Images and Files

The Web Theme is packaged with multiple ways to load images into your site, depending on how they are used. It is important to ensure the images placed onto the site follow best practices when it comes to file naming convention, file sizes for optimization, and using the correctly formatting image in the box or row it will occupy.

The most common way to load images into the column you are building within your blade is through the editor toolbar. The image width and height will be preserved here, and the exact width the image takes up will be decided by the column width selected.

Add an Image

  1. To add a file inside a column, use the editor toolbar and select the image icon
  2. Select 'Open File Browser'
  3. The server's images and docs are now displayed. Select the folder you would like to store the image and select 'Upload' and enter the ALT text to describe the image for non-sighted visitors.
  4. Once the image has successfully uploaded, click on it and then 'Select'
  5. Save and view the image inside the editor toolbar
  6. Save your image to review the image placement and width and modify the Column styles accordingly.

Extras

  • For 3 or 4 column rows with images, consider cropping the square shaped images to be the same size so uniformity of the sizing is met.
  • Do not embed text or graphics onto an image. This is not accessible.
  • Avoid stylized images and focus on the natural tones of campus life.

Files like PDFs and Word Docs can be added to your Web Theme site. From the Content menu on the Admin Dashboard, you can edit, remove, and search for files uploaded to the site under the 'Files' tab.
